RAPETAPE (post-punk x Khabarovsk)
«Wunderschön, ziemlich entrückt und erfrischend nicht nah am Puls der Zeit, eines Trends oder sonstwas, das man schon hundertmal zur Genüge gehört hat» - Ox-Fanzine
A stick in the wheel and a hidden gem of the undeground in the Far East of Russia - Rape Tape are way too weird for the local scene, but also way too wild for an ordinary post-punk. Most of the bands copy the Manchster sound of the 80s, while Rape Tape bring the wild energy back on stage - chtonic, dark and ritualistic.
Their vibe is sole with their tours – 19 cities of Russia and 4 days in the prairies of Mongolia won't lie as well as the postive review from John Robb of The Membrains. And yet the main thing – music of Rape Tape breaks the connection with the past and sounds like a rough present. Some would hear in it an echo of the future, which is as enigmatic as their music.
